Terms & Conditions

The plain-English agreement between you and Filed Tax. We've tried to keep it clear — if anything's unclear, just ask us.

Version 1.0 · Last updated 5 July 2026

These terms apply when you use Filed Tax. By signing up or paying for a plan, you agree to them. Please read section 4 in particular — it explains something important about the guidance we give you.

1.Who we are

Filed Tax is a trading name of Gazelle Accountancy Ltd, company number 17128689, a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is Office 63GA, 321–323 High Road, Chadwell Heath, Greater London, RM6 6AX. You can reach us at trevor@filedtax.co.uk.

We are supervised for anti-money-laundering purposes by [HMRC / named professional body + registration number], and we are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under [ICO reference]. We hold professional indemnity insurance as required by [relevant body].

In these terms, "we", "us", "Filed" and "Filed Tax" mean Gazelle Accountancy Ltd. "You" means the person who signs up for a plan.

2.What Filed Tax does for you

Filed Tax is a done-for-you service. We prepare and file your tax with HMRC so you don't have to — you just answer our questions. We offer two things:

One-off return — £195

A single Self Assessment tax return for one tax year, prepared and filed for you. This is a one-time service for a single year — for example, a catch-up or a year you're not yet required to file digitally. It does not include ongoing quarterly filing, and it does not include access to our year-round question service (see section 4).

Filed Tax monthly — £25 a month

Our ongoing plan for people who need to file under Making Tax Digital. For one flat monthly fee it includes:

The monthly plan covers [one trade and/or straightforward property income — define the exact scope]. If your situation is more involved [e.g. multiple properties, capital gains, foreign income — list], we'll tell you and agree any additional service with you first, so there are never surprise fees.

3.Prices & paying

Our prices are shown on our website and are [inclusive / exclusive] of VAT. [If VAT-registered: state VAT number and that prices shown include VAT.] The monthly fee is collected by [Direct Debit via GoCardless / card via Stripe] each month in advance. The one-off fee is payable before we begin work.

We may change our prices from time to time. If we change the price of your monthly plan, we'll give you [at least one month's] notice first, and you're free to cancel before it takes effect.

4. Our answers are general guidance until we've seen your full position

When you ask us a question — through our chat, our question service, or by email — we'll give you a helpful, plain-English answer based on current HMRC guidance and on the information you've given us at that point. We'll usually show you the HMRC source and the date it was correct.

That answer is general guidance, not personalised tax advice. It's only ever as accurate as the information you've shared, and until we've reviewed your full financial position we can't see the whole picture. So please don't treat a chat answer as a final decision on your own affairs.

Nothing we say in chat is acted on or filed with HMRC until we've prepared it properly, reviewed it against your full information, and Robert Webb has confirmed it. That review step is the point at which we stand behind the work — see section 9. Tax rules and figures also change (often at Budgets), so guidance is correct as at the date we give it.

5.What we need from you

Because our work depends on your information, we need you to:

If information you give us is wrong, incomplete or late, it affects what we can do — including our ability to file accurately or on time. We're not responsible for penalties or errors that result from information we weren't given or that turned out to be incorrect (see section 9).

6.How we prepare and file

We'll ask you simple questions, prepare your submission, and have it reviewed by an experienced Self Assessment filer before anything goes to HMRC. We'll show you your return to approve before we submit it. We aim to respond to you within 24 hours, and to file everything on time provided you've given us what we need at least 72 hours before the relevant HMRC deadline.

7.Your plan, and cancelling

You can cancel your monthly plan at any time — there's no minimum term and no exit fee. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid month.

What your monthly fee covers

Your monthly plan covers you from when you join, forwards. The year-end return included in the plan is the one for the tax year your subscription has run through (or that you've prepaid). In other words, the plan isn't a way to buy a single past year's return in one or two payments — a single historical return is our one-off service (section 2).

If you join part-way through a tax year and also want an earlier year prepared, we'll handle that as a one-off return alongside your plan. If you cancel, we'll complete any work covered by the months you've paid, and you'll keep access to your question service until the end of your paid period.

[Optional: annual prepay — if you pay for a year up front at [£X], the full year's service including the year-end return is covered. Confirm final annual price and refund position on early cancellation.]

8.Proving who you are (ID & anti-money-laundering)

The law requires us to verify your identity before we act for you. You agree to complete our quick ID check and to provide the documents we ask for. We can't file anything with HMRC until your identity is verified — this applies even after you've paid, and it's not something we can waive. We may also have legal duties to report certain matters, which in limited cases we're not permitted to discuss with you.

9.What we're responsible for

We take real care with your tax, and we stand behind the work we do. If we make a mistake in preparing or filing your return, we'll put it right and deal with HMRC to correct it. [If offering an accuracy guarantee, state its exact scope here — and get it approved by your PI insurer.]

What we can't be responsible for:

Except where the law says otherwise, our total liability to you in connection with our service is limited to [e.g. the fees you've paid us in the previous 12 months / an agreed figure — set with your PI insurer and solicitor]. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. These terms don't affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015; as a consumer you always keep the legal rights you're entitled to.

10.Your data

We handle your personal information in line with UK data-protection law and our Privacy Policy. Your records are held securely in a UK-based, access-controlled system, and we keep them for as long as the law requires us to (including anti-money-laundering record-keeping).

How we message you (including WhatsApp)

We'll contact you by email about your account and filings. If you choose to opt in, we can also message you on WhatsApp (provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) — for reminders, document requests, filing confirmations and answering your questions, and for marketing only where you've separately agreed. WhatsApp is optional: you give us your mobile number and opt in, and you can opt out at any time by replying STOP, asking us to switch you to email, or contacting us. When you message us on WhatsApp, your number and messages are also processed by WhatsApp/Meta under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

11.If something goes wrong

If you're not happy, please tell us at trevor@filedtax.co.uk and we'll look into it and reply within [X working days]. If we can't sort it out between us, you can refer it to [relevant professional body / ombudsman scheme, if applicable].

12.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a significant change, we'll let you know and, where it affects your plan, give you reasonable notice so you can cancel if you'd prefer.

13.Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
