Is there a monthly service that does your tax return? Yes — us. £25 a month covers your tax return, all four Making Tax Digital updates, unlimited questions and deadline reminders.
Who is it for? Anyone with a UK personal tax return: the self-employed, landlords, employees with extra income, company directors, and people abroad with UK income. You send us what we ask for. We do the rest.
Until April 2026, a tax return was an annual event and an annual fee made sense. Making Tax Digital changed the shape of the job. Anyone with qualifying income over £50,000 now files four quarterly updates and a final declaration — five filings a year, with deadlines on 7 August, 7 November, 7 February, 7 May and 31 January. A monthly fee matches work that now happens all year round rather than once in January.
Very little. We ask for what we need in the weeks before each deadline. You reply. We prepare the update, file it, and tell you it is done. If you have nothing new to send, you say so and we work from what we have.
It covers one person's Self Assessment position, whatever the mix — employment, self-employment, property, dividends from your own company, foreign income, pensions and savings. It does not cover the company's own accounts, Corporation Tax, VAT returns or payroll.
Software is generally cheaper (see our comparison) and makes you do the work: you categorise the transactions, you press the buttons, you carry the risk of getting it wrong. A filing service costs more because someone else does it. Which is better value depends entirely on what an hour of your time is worth and how confident you are. If you are confident, buy software.
Yes. There is no tie-in, so you can stay for as long as you need us and stop once it is filed. That suits people who are not yet inside Making Tax Digital, or who have one year to sort out.
No. You can stop at any time.
You are in from April 2026 if your qualifying income was over £50,000 on your 2024–25 return; from April 2027 if it was over £30,000 on your 2025–26 return; from April 2028 if it was over £20,000 on your 2026–27 return. Qualifying income is gross self-employment turnover plus gross property income, added together, before expenses.
Late submissions under Making Tax Digital carry penalty points. Four points brings a £200 penalty, and a further £200 for each subsequent miss. We will tell you where you stand.
Yes. The final declaration on 31 January is included.
